1. Operator and scope
Business Credit Reports is operated by Global Data Intelligence Limited, registered in England and Wales under company number 09410808, with its registered office at Artisans’ House, 7 Queensbridge, Northampton, Northamptonshire, NN4 7BF, United Kingdom ("we", "us" or "our"). "You" means the business customer or the person using the website, as the context requires. "Services" includes our company information, reports, platform access, APIs, Model Context Protocol (MCP) access, monitoring and licensed data feeds to the extent ordered.
Our services are offered for business and professional purposes. A person ordering for an organisation must have authority to bind it. These terms do not exclude any protection that applicable law makes mandatory.
2. How an agreement is formed
The website terms apply to your use of this website. A paid service contract is formed only when we accept an order that identifies the service and applicable terms, or when an authorised user completes a checkout or registration that clearly requires acceptance. Sending an enquiry, viewing a sample or requesting a quotation does not by itself create a paid subscription.
An "Order" is the accepted order form, statement of work or online order confirmation. A separately signed master agreement governs where one exists. In a conflict, applicable mandatory law and any binding standard data transfer clauses take precedence; then the signed agreement, the Order, an incorporated data protection schedule for its subject matter, these terms and the acceptable use policy. Purchase-order boilerplate does not amend an agreed contract unless we expressly accept it in writing.
The privacy notices explain personal data processing and are not consent to processing, a service warranty or a substitute for a data protection agreement. Posting a new version on this website does not automatically amend an existing negotiated agreement.
3. Service scope, coverage and changes
Your Order should specify the countries, datasets, permitted users, usage limits, delivery, refresh requirements and licence rights purchased. Website coverage figures describe overall coverage; they do not promise every field for every company or country. Source access, filing obligations and third-party rights affect availability.
We will provide a paid service with reasonable skill and care and substantially in accordance with the agreed scope. Availability, support and response commitments apply only where expressly agreed. We may maintain and improve services and make changes required by law, security or source availability. We will give reasonable notice of a material adverse change where practicable and discuss a reasonable workaround. If an unremedied change substantially removes contracted core functionality, the contractual termination and refund remedies remain available.
4. Your licence
Subject to payment and compliance with the contract, we grant your organisation a non-exclusive, non-transferable right for its authorised users to access and use the purchased service for its internal business purposes within the Order’s scope. Contractors may use it only on your behalf, under equivalent confidentiality and use restrictions, and within purchased user limits. Affiliates need express coverage in the Order.
Resale, redistribution, embedding data in a product for third parties, bulk replication, external client delivery and model training require rights expressly granted in the Order or another written licence. Such rights are available by agreement; website references to flexible licensing do not grant them automatically. Authorised API and MCP use is permitted within the purchased licence and limits.
5. Intellectual property and source rights
We and our licensors retain rights in our software, report formats, proprietary assessments, compilations, database structure, documentation, branding and other protected material. You retain rights in material you supply. These terms do not claim ownership of underlying public facts, government material or rights you independently hold.
You must preserve source attribution, dates, proprietary notices and any source-specific conditions supplied with the data. You must not extract or re-utilise a substantial part of a protected database, repeatedly extract small parts to reconstruct it, or create a substitute data service, except where expressly licensed or permitted by non-excludable law. Your own analysis does not transfer ownership of our protected content or expand its licence.
6. Accounts, credentials and authorised access
Keep accounts and API credentials secure. Named-user accounts must not be shared. Manage your users and integrations, use appropriate access controls, and notify us promptly of suspected compromise through your account contact or the contact page. You are responsible for use you authorise and for loss caused by your failure to take reasonable security precautions. We remain responsible for our own security obligations.
Do not circumvent authentication, rate limits, access controls or technical restrictions. An API key, connected assistant or MCP client does not confer more access than your contract permits. You are responsible for configuring third-party tools and deciding which data to disclose to them.
7. Information and decision responsibility
Company records reflect the information available from their sources at particular dates. Filings can be late, incomplete, incorrect or later amended. Credit scores and recommended limits are assessments, not government findings, guarantees of payment, insurance, credit approvals or promises about future performance. Ownership information may be incomplete and a missing record does not prove that a person, liability or relationship does not exist.
Reports, summaries, visualisations and automated or AI-assisted outputs support research. They are not legal, investment, accounting or regulated financial advice. Check the correct entity, dates, source coverage and material findings. Use qualified judgment and additional evidence appropriate to your exposure. You remain responsible for lending, procurement, compliance and other commercial decisions, including any human review or safeguards the law requires.
The services must not be used as a consumer report for personal credit, employment, housing, insurance eligibility or another regulated individual eligibility decision unless we have expressly agreed a service lawfully designed and authorised for that use.
8. Customer data and privacy roles
You warrant that you have a lawful basis and the necessary rights to provide data and instructions. Supply only information needed for the agreed service. Do not submit passwords, payment-card details, identity documents or sensitive personal data through ordinary enquiry forms.
Each party is an independent controller for the purposes it determines, including our operation and licensing of independently sourced business information and your subsequent use of it. Where we process your personal data solely on your documented instructions, an appropriate data processing agreement must be incorporated before that processing begins. We do not acquire a general right to publish your confidential inputs or train general-purpose AI models on them merely because you use the service.
9. Fees and payment
Prices, currency, taxes, volumes, credits and payment dates are those in the Order. Unless the Order says otherwise, invoices are payable within 30 days. Fees exclude applicable taxes. You are responsible for taxes on your purchase, other than taxes on our net income. Any usage overage, top-up or auto top-up must be disclosed and authorised under the Order or the relevant account setting.
Notify us promptly of a good-faith billing dispute and pay the undisputed amount when due. We may charge statutory late-payment interest and recovery costs to the extent available under applicable business payment law. Committed fees are non-cancellable and non-refundable except for an express contractual remedy, a refund expressly agreed by us or a right required by law.
10. Term, renewals and price changes
The subscription term is stated in the Order. Automatic renewal applies only if the Order or accepted checkout clearly provides for it and states the renewal period and cancellation deadline. An enquiry or continued browsing never authorises recurring billing.
Changes to recurring prices take effect at renewal unless otherwise expressly agreed. We will give at least 30 days’ notice before a renewal price increase, or any longer notice agreed in the Order, so you can exercise the applicable non-renewal right. We will not use a website update to impose a retrospective charge or extend an existing commitment.
11. Suspension
We may suspend affected access where reasonably necessary to address a security threat, unlawful use, a material licence breach, a binding legal requirement or overdue undisputed fees following reasonable payment notice. We will act proportionately, give notice and an opportunity to remedy where practicable, and restore access when the reason is resolved. Immediate action may be necessary for fraud, security incidents or unlawful activity. Suspension does not waive accrued charges or other remedies.
12. Ending a contract
Either party may terminate an affected Order for a material breach that is not remedied within 30 days of written notice identifying the breach, or immediately if the breach cannot be remedied. Either may terminate where the other becomes insolvent, to the extent the law permits. Other termination rights are those in the signed agreement or Order.
On expiry or termination, access and ongoing delivery end. You must stop unauthorised use and pay accrued sums. If you terminate for our uncured material breach, we will refund prepaid fees for the unused part of the affected service. This does not limit mandatory rights or agreed remedies.
Unless the Order or identified source restrictions say otherwise, you may retain lawfully obtained, fully paid reports and extracts for internal business records and audit, subject to privacy law, confidentiality and correction or deletion duties. Retention does not permit fresh access, continued monitoring, redistribution or use outside the licence. Other retained datasets and derivative rights depend on the Order. Data processed on your behalf is returned or deleted under the applicable processing agreement.
13. Confidentiality
Each party will protect the other’s non-public business information using reasonable care, use it only to perform or receive the contract, and disclose it only to people and advisers who need it and are bound to protect it. This does not cover information that is lawfully public, already known without a duty, independently developed or lawfully received from another source.
A legally required disclosure is permitted, with prior notice where lawful and reasonable steps to limit disclosure. Confidentiality continues for three years after the agreement ends; trade secrets and personal data remain protected for as long as the relevant law requires.
14. Warranties and remedies
We warrant that we are entitled to provide the contracted licence and will perform paid services with reasonable skill and care. Tell us promptly about a material failure, with sufficient detail to investigate. We will have a reasonable opportunity to correct the affected service or provide a reasonable alternative. If a material breach remains uncured, clause 12 applies.
To the extent permitted by law and subject to express agreed warranties, we do not warrant uninterrupted availability, complete coverage, error-free data or fitness for a customer’s unstated purpose. Samples are illustrative and do not guarantee an identical report for another company. Public website content and free demonstrations are provided as available. Nothing in this clause excuses failure to meet an express paid-service obligation.
15. Liability limits
Subject to the exclusions below, our total aggregate liability arising from or in connection with an affected Order, in contract, tort (including negligence), misrepresentation, breach of statutory duty or otherwise, is limited to the fees paid or payable for that Order in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. For free website use that does not relate to a paid Order, the aggregate limit is £1,000. A separately agreed liability limit takes precedence.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or loss of profits, revenue, business opportunities, anticipated savings or goodwill arising from use of the services. You must take reasonable steps to mitigate loss. These provisions allocate commercial risk; they do not remove liability for a service obligation that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Nothing excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that the law does not allow to be excluded or limited. Mandatory rights and remedies of individuals under data protection law, and obligations under binding standard transfer clauses, are unaffected. All limitations apply only so far as lawful and reasonable under applicable law.
16. Claims arising from misuse
You will reimburse our reasonable losses and costs arising from a third-party claim to the extent directly caused by your unlawful use of the services, infringement through material you supply, or deliberate use outside the agreed licence. This does not apply to the extent the claim results from our own breach, negligence or unlawful conduct. We must notify you promptly, take reasonable steps to mitigate the loss and allow reasonable involvement in the defence. Neither party may agree a settlement imposing obligations on the other without its written consent, not to be unreasonably withheld.
17. Events beyond control and general provisions
Neither party is liable for a delay caused by an event outside its reasonable control, provided it takes reasonable mitigation steps and resumes performance promptly. This does not excuse payment already due or suspend mandatory privacy or security obligations. If such an event prevents a core paid service for more than 30 consecutive days, either party may end the affected Order and unused prepaid fees will be refunded.
Neither party may assign a contract without the other’s consent, except to an affiliate or as part of a genuine merger, reorganisation or sale of the relevant business, provided the assignee can perform it and confidentiality and data protection are maintained. These terms create no agency or partnership. A failure to enforce is not a waiver. An unenforceable provision is limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary. No third party may enforce the contract except where expressly stated or required by law.
18. Changes, notices and records
We may update website-use rules prospectively by publishing a dated version. Material changes to an existing paid contract require the variation mechanism in that contract or the parties’ agreement; otherwise they apply to a new Order or renewal after appropriate notice. Keep a copy of the version incorporated in your Order. Nothing excludes liability for fraud or rights that cannot be waived.
Use your agreed account contact for contractual notices, or the contact route in our legal notice, marking the message "Legal notice" and identifying the contract. We may send contract notices to the authorised business contact recorded in the Order. A privacy request does not need to follow contractual notice formalities.
19. Governing law and disputes
Unless a signed agreement states otherwise, these terms and non-contractual obligations connected with them are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory law. The parties should first try in good faith to resolve a commercial dispute through their nominated contacts; this does not prevent urgent protective relief, stop a limitation period or restrict an individual’s right to complain to a data protection regulator.
