01

What is a business credit reports API?

A business credit reports API lets your application request and retrieve company credit information. Business Credit Reports documents report search, generation, readiness checks, content retrieval and report history. Use the resulting information within your own onboarding, supplier-review or credit-management process.

02

What information can a company credit report return?

Depending on the company and country, report content can include a credit score, recommended credit limit, financial statements, company identity, directors, ownership and public-record information. Report availability and individual fields must be confirmed for the entities you need. The product illustrations use an anonymised historical report; the workflow diagrams explain the integration.

03

How do we find the correct legal entity?

Begin with the country and a legal name, registration number or VAT number. Use KYB Search for registry entity resolution and retain its company ID for KYB endpoints. The Credit Report API has a separate availability search that returns a report source ID. Confirm the registration details before requesting a report.

04

Are business credit reports generated instantly?

Generation time depends on the company and country. The documentation describes both immediate and pending generation, with some reports taking up to three minutes. An integration should retain the generated report ID, handle pending results and check readiness rather than assume every request is immediately complete.

05

Can we retrieve company financial statements separately?

Yes. The KYB financial endpoint provides available filed financial statements, while the Financials API also supports company financial data. Coverage, history and fields vary with local filing requirements. Keep the accounting period, currency and source context alongside the figures.

06

What is the difference between the REST API and MCP?

REST gives developers explicit endpoints for reports, company data and monitoring. MCP lets a compatible assistant call the published company, KYB, financial and ownership tools. The MCP tools listed here support company research; credit-report generation and Watch Companies monitoring are documented separately in REST.

07

Can we use Business Credit Reports data in ChatGPT or Claude?

Yes, through a compatible MCP connection. Add the Business Credit Reports MCP server and authenticate using the supported account connection. Your client’s capabilities, workspace controls and Business Credit Reports access determine the tools you can use. Follow the current setup documentation for your chosen client.

08

Can the API monitor changes to customers and suppliers?

The Watch Companies API supports selected company fields, signed webhook notifications and event history. Agree which indicators are available for your portfolio and how your systems will handle delivery. Confirm score and credit-limit refresh separately; company-event monitoring does not establish universal score-alert coverage.

09

Does global company coverage mean every company has financials and a credit score?

No. Company-record coverage, filed financials, credit reports and monitoring are different datasets. Business Credit Reports’ overall company intelligence covers 600 million companies across 200 countries, while available fields and reports vary. Validate your company list and required information before designing the integration.

10

How do we request API, MCP or bulk-data access?

Use Contact Us to share your markets, company list, required fields, expected usage and intended use. Our team can confirm matching, data availability, access, refresh arrangements and licensing. Discuss internal use, product integration or redistribution explicitly so the agreement fits your workflow.
